Information Systems Audit 

Sarbanes Oxley compliance project at an Insurance company which is a division of the Toronto Dominion bank. I am involved with documenting business processes in the IT and general controls area, assessing controls, designing test plans, and assessing effectiveness of controls. I am also  involved in similar work with application controls and the financial processes.

Sarbanes Oxley compliance project for a high tech software development company located in Old Montreal. We are involved in preparing the Sox documentation, monitoring the various remediation plans, assisting with the implementation of new processes and best practices, walk thrus and testing of the various processes for the major IT cycles - Software development and program changes, Security and Operations.

Planned, conducted and coordinated the information systems audit of a large importer of women’s clothing. I worked closely with the financial audit team, to evaluate system controls, and test the flow of transactions through the sales process. We also conducted various substantive tests on inventory, accounts payable and accounts receivable applications.

Implementation of data transfer system from Momentus BBX apparel system to excel for data analysis.

Review of controls and weaknesses at girls clothing manufacturer. Looked at backups, virus protection, systems conversion and development controls, security etc.

Conducted various Y2K reviews and plans

Transfer of client trial balances from various systems to Caseware working paper program

Designed and conducted various Computer Assisted Audit Techniques, such as automated accounts receivable confirmations with monetary unit sampling techniques.

Restaurant franchiser with 15-20 restaurants across North America. Reviewed security regarding remote access to servers based locally re: network security, VPN access, firewalls. Assessing vulnerabilities and risks, penetration testing, user authentication etc.

Served as a project manager for a large e-business related project funded by CANARIE

Served as project manager on a large ERP implementation of Microsoft Great Plains eEnterprise system for a  client in the high tech. industry. This involved IT infrastructure, financials and distribution, manufacturing and service areas. This client develops and sells systems to the retail industry.

Installed and implemented several MS Access and SQL server based business systems (Bluelink Solutions Accounting)  Performed training implementation assistance, custom specifications. Examples:

Was involved in implementing a practice management and time and billing system for a medium sized professional firm with 100 users. Included data conversion, training, custom reporting (Crystal reports).

Co-ordinated two implementations of a low end windows based apparel system for importers of clothing and handbags.

Involved in the implementation of MRP/accounting system for food manufacturer.

Researched and evaluated various mid-ranged Point of Sale systems for a retail operation with two stores. The system included point of sale invoicing with bar-coding, receiving and purchase orders, with inventory control. We looked at reporting for sales and merchandising, multi-store polling and interfacing with back office accounting.

Co-ordinated implementation of low end property management system with two residential apartment buildings.

Implementation of mid level accounting system at advertising agency.

Conducted a needs analysis and system evaluation for a large restaurant concern with over 65 franchises, involving point of sale and back office accounting systems.

Training and technical support for Restaurant client on Microsoft Great Plains, using Citrix Metaframe for remote locations in Quebec, Ontario, and Florida. Produced customized financial statements with FRX.

Implemented mid level accounting system for steak house restaurant.

Researched and evaluated various systems for executive recruiting company.
